From a young age, sport has been a huge part of my life, and it has shaped who I am today. When I picked up a rugby ball at the age of 11, I discovered a passion that became a part of my identity. Rugby has been with me for more years than it hasn’t, and my journey in women’s rugby has been nothing short of incredible. I started as a player, then became both a player and a coach, and now I focus solely on coaching. It’s been a privilege to be part of this amazing sport, but I want to be honest with you—it hasn’t always been easy.

Getting involved in women’s sports, like rugby, comes with its challenges, but it also brings incredible rewards. There will be moments when you face obstacles that others might never experience, but there will also be times when you’re standing in a stadium filled with a record-breaking crowd, feeling the energy and pride of being part of something bigger than yourself. Those highs make every challenge worth it.

What makes women’s rugby so special is that it teaches you life skills that go far beyond the game. You’ll learn to be strong, to stand up for yourself, and to speak out for what you believe in. You’ll develop thick skin and resilience, but you’ll also discover the joy of being your authentic self. You’ll have the chance to be a trailblazer, to inspire others, and to be part of a movement that is changing the lives of young girls everywhere.

If you’re thinking about getting involved in sports, I encourage you to take that leap. It’s not just about playing a game—it’s about finding your voice, building confidence, and being part of a community that lifts each other up. Rugby has given me so much, and I know it can do the same for you. So, pick up that ball, step onto the field, and start your journey. You’ll be amazed at what you can achieve and how much you’ll grow.
